BACKGROUND
Otté Hōm is a Manila-based home goods store that offers funky objects and vegan hand-poured scented candles. The store launched two collections for its debut: Sunrise and Midnight Candle Collection. Within the Sunrise Collection are the Bergamot and Lavender Candles. My task was to create the label designs for the candles, paired with a thank-you card.
CHALLENGE
How could you make the label design stand out in the sea of Manila-based candle shops on Instagram?
THE DESIGN
I used bright, funky, and fun illustrations for this collection to stand out from shops that usually go for a minimalist and clean label design. Through the label design, I hoped to paint a picture of the mood the scent gives off.
The Bergamot Candle is zesty and has a floral scent of bergamot oranges. Imagine being in the countryside, with ripe, just-gathered Bergamot oranges under the tree where you’re laying on.
The Lavender Candle gives you a vivid, pure lavender flower field with just a hint of vanilla. The mood for the design is calm and somehow dreamy, like waking up from a good night’s sleep.
